Get stuck in and try some of the 100+ events on offer during this winter’s annual VISA Wellington on a Plate culinary festival which features everything from hands-on classes to banquets, pop-ups to street eats.

Even though the programme had yet to be released when Wairarapa Lifestyle went to print there’s no denying it will be two weeks of gastronomic delights. Held from August 11-27, Wellington on a Plate brings together a variety of ingredients that combine to create a packed culinary programme that satisfies all appetites.

Past events to be held in the Wairarapa have included the sold out Learning to Make Bread event at the Clareville Bakery, which lies on the outskirts of Carterton and owned by Wairarapa food heroes Mike and Rosie Kloeg. In addition to events,  Wairarapa wines, fresh produce and meats will appear on the menus of restaurants in Wellington. Be sure to keep up to date with programme events in Wairarapa and Wellington thanks to the festival’s social media networks and website  Are you hungry yet?
