Hard on the Heels: June 3rd to July 9th 

An acclaimed photography exhibition by leading New Zealand photojournalist Peter Bush is being held at Aratoi - Wairarapa Museum of Art and History in Masterton. 


Reds, Whites & Brews Festival: June 27th – July 4th

The wine village of Martinborough will welcome visitors in a charming way. Over 30 local businesses will come together to offer accommodation specials, unique activities that celebrate local wine and heartland rugby, restaurants will offer menus with wine and craft beer matchings.


Rugby Yarns with The Lion, The All Black and The Ref: June 28th 

This special dinner to be held at the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Solway Park in Masterton features guest speakers former All Black player, coach and selector Sir Brian Lochore, former Lions player John Jeffrey and French rugby referee Romain Poite. 


Community screening of Lions Games: June 27th and July 1st 

There will be a screening of the Lions v Hurricanes game and the Lions v All Blacks game on the big screen in Masterton’s War Memorial Stadium. 


Carterton Rugby Football Club Grass Roots Evening: June 29th 

This “grass roots” function at the Carterton RFC will feature terrific local rugby and hospitality and a fun game of touch rugby between locals and Lions supporters.


Ride of the Legends: July 2nd and July 3rd

Wairarapa will host a leg of Ride of the Legends, a cycle ride featuring with former All Blacks and Lions players such as Ian Jones, Peter Winterbottom and Roger Uttley.


Wairarapa Bush v Lions rugby history in pictures  

A special collaboration between Aratoi Museum and the Wairarapa Archives will highlight Lions & Wairarapa Bush history. On display at the Wairarapa Bush clubrooms on Dixon Street in Masterton.


Plant a Native tree at Mangatainoka: from June 5th 

Those driving in a self-contained campervan will be able to experience a unique connection to the land. Tui Brewery, located on SH2, will gift a native tree to visitors staying overnight at the Mangatainoka Reserve for planting. 


Experience Pukaha at Night Time: June 26th – July 6th 2

Pukaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre located on SH2, 15 minutes’ drive north of Masterton, is offering a special overnight experience for travellers in self-contained camper vans. They can securely park up at Pukaha and enjoy an exclusive, guided night walk to see tuatara, an eel feed, glow worms and listen to kiwi in the wild as well as visit the kiwi house and free flight aviary.
